James: Belief that Behaves

We will conclude our examination of the first chapter of James with this lesson. Within that chapter James discusses three areas of testing that believers face. There are tests from the:

• World = trials: those things that drop upon us from being a part of humanity
• Within = temptations: the desires that swell up within each individual seeking to draw them away into sing
• Word = truths: the response one has to the Word of God

Today we will look at that third test – how we respond to the truths of God’s Word. Specifically, James will consider two aspects of our response. First, how we hear it. Secondly, how we do what it says.
