Names of God: Jehovah-Shalom

Most are familiar with the Jewish greeting, “Shalom.” And if you have heard that it means “peace,” you have heard correctly.

But what is peace? In actuality there are within Scripture a multiplicity of translations of this original Hebrew word. Those various translation add to the depth of meaning contained in shalom and assist in offering a Biblical understanding of genuine peace.
