Mastering the mouth to speak blessing rather than cursing and walking in the emotional shoes of the offender are the beginnings of a journey when empowers one to love beyond hatred.

In this lesson we continue to dig into the text of Romans chapter twelve as we seek God’s strategies for loving our way out of our annoyances. The third challenge is to with full sincerity and honesty attempt to understand the offenders thinking and position.

In our minds we are persuaded the offender has done us wrong, hurt us, maybe even sinned against us. Yet, to get beyond the painful hate which that wrong has generated, it is vital to ask what may have been thinking? What was their thought process for engaging in the offensive event? Is there a position they hold which contributes to their thinking process? This information is helpful not to change them, excuse them, or blame them but it is needed for our own peace. For our ability to move past hatred and practice love.

In this lesson we lay out how important this is and gain some insight into how God says it can be accomplished. A “Digging Deeper” study guide is below to aid in making personal application of the truths within this lesson.
