Forgiven to Forgive

Adam Clarke writes, “Revenge is natural to man, i.e. man is naturally a vindictive being, and, in consequence, nothing is more difficult to him than forgiveness of injuries.”

Do you agree with his assessment the “nothing is more difficult…than forgiveness of injuries?” Is there anything else that drains one more fully than wrestling with forgiving a infliction from another? When feeling justifiably wronged does not that injustice captivate one’s mental and emotional energies more than other struggles within life?

It is a short step from being wronged into the field of hopelessness. In this lesson we look at how the forgiveness we have experienced from God, sets the standard for the forgiveness we extend to others.
