New Name – Holy
In this study we discuss and seek to define what it means to be holy. The Hebrew of the Old Testament uses a word with a primary meaning of dedication or devotion, while the New Testament Greek word focuses on separation.
We develop the truth that through the blood of Christ God is able to identify His children as holy. So holiness in one sense is a proclamation from the Father. But Scripture also indicates that holiness is a continuing process for those whom God has gifted with holiness.
Holy God gives us holiness of “being” through the wonders of redemption. We develop our holiness more deeply as we engage in a growing spiritual separation. A holiness of “becoming.”
