New Name – Israel

After wrestling with the angel of the Lord all night long, Jacob’s name gets changed to Israel. His sons became the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel and Israel became the people of God’s “seed promise.”

When we get to the New Covenant we find Scripture introduces us to new reality. Those who are born of the “imperishable seed” become God’s new spiritual Israel.

In this lesson we look at how God’s seed promise weaves itself throughout history and brings the promise of “spiritual Israel” to believers today.
