New Name – Athlete

There are some well-known athletes, both past and present, who have been very bold about their faith in Jesus. One must admire their willingness to display their faith in a time in which doing so is often perceived negatively.

It is indeed praise worthy when an athlete proclaims their faith, it is, however, even more significant that those who profess to live in faith do so as God’s athletes!

In this lesson we will look to some specific characteristics which identify God’s followers in athletic terms. There is a level of amazement which is seen in the fact that God considers His children to function in terms which describe an athlete.
