Joy Story – Renamed!

There is a scene in Toy Story 2 which depicts an astonished Woody as he discovers who he really is. Up to that point he has just assumed he is a well loved toy with his owners inscription on the bottom of his boot. As the clip unfolds Prospector says, “You don’t know who you are, do you?” Woody is then shown a massive collection of memorabilia which reveals his status as a TV superstar.

I wonder how many of God’s children live with a similar deflated sense of who they really are? Over the next few weeks we will be giving our attention to a variety of “new names” God uses when referencing His children. These names and titles will help followers more fully understand the exact nature of who they are. This lesson presents the foundation principles around which future lessons in this series will revolve.
