Centered on Faithfulness

Most have at some time in their lives had to run a 50 yard dash. Few have trained for a 26 mile marathon. Although both are a “race” there is a world of difference between the two.

When it comes to one’s spiritual faithfulness we must understand it is also a race (Heb. 12:1-2). It is, however, not a dash but a marathon. It is faithfulness until death that is called for by Jesus to the church at Smyrna.

Faithfulness is a marathon and in this lesson we look at two characteristics which show it to me a marathon and not a dash:

  1. It is FRAGILE – hard to find and easily lost
  2. There is the possibility of faith being FRAUDULENT – misunderstood, incorrectly defined or just plane counterfeit.
