Centered On Certainty
Last time we saw that humans are unable because of their subjective nature and incomplete knowledge to establish absolute or objective truth. On our own the question of Pilot becomes the query of society, “What is truth?”
It is this inability to determine truth which brings us to dependence upon a power greater than ourselves. Truth therefore, is theological. God must be involved for their to be a consistent measure of truth.
In this lesson we look at how God has revealed truth throughout the ages of human history. Although He has spoken in different manner within that framework He has always spoken what is true. When God dealt the the family patriarchs He did so with truth. When God delivered the Law through Moses He revealed truth. When God spoke through His Son all that was spoke and written was true. Because of these realities it is possible within a confused and often “untrue” world to still live a life that is “centered on certainty.”
