Breakthrough Moments

As David comes to the throne of Israel his authority as king is challenged by a group of Philistines who plant themselves close to Jerusalem and are ready for a power play.

David confers with the Father and goes out to defeat them in the Valley of Rephaim. David is so grateful for God’s breakthrough power that he names the place of victory, “Jehovah breaks through.”

Most believers understand what it is to address the enemies of life and long for God to provide a powerful breakthrough moment. In this lesson we make some foundational observations from the account of David’s victory and prepare for our next study.
