Without Complaint – to honor

Thus far we have discovered that Paul has given several reasons for doing “everything without grumbling and arguing.”

  • First, he says it is a part of a believer’s desire to obey God.
  • Secondly, rising above the negativity of argumentative complaining is a proof that one’s desire is to be a blameless, pure, and faultless child of God.
  • Thirdly, when free from grumbling believers provide a light which illuminates the power of God’s message of truth.  Non-complaining believers shine like stars in a crooked and perverted generation full of and supporting complainers.

In this lesson we find Paul offering yet another supportive principle to challenge Christians to live beyond the fleshly desire to complain.  That principle is that to do is a means of honoring our spiritual leaders.
