Joy in the Journey…

Most of us have a standard response to negative situations  –  search for the possible blessings that might be contained within the pain.  This often used methodology can prove effective in changing our attitude within life’s turbulent and tragic times.

Songs, both old and new, encourage this process.  We hear that clouds and rain are needed to make the rainbows and create appreciation for the sunshine.  We musically admonish one another to, “count your many blessings.”

While the power of possibility thinking is indeed a strategy for facing life’s negativity, it is far from being equal to the Biblical mandate to “rejoice always, again I say rejoice.”

The step from imagined possibilities into an actual joyful journey demands a very special ingredient.  In this lesson we look at how Jesus demonstrates the development and use of this necessary element.  Jesus transposes hurt into happiness, reluctance into rejoicing, and  jitters into joy.   The methodology for His transformation is one we must imitate if we are to encounter – real joy in the journey!
