What Would Jesus Teach – Hope (part 2)

The disciples are distraught because Jesus has announced His departure.  He has proclaimed the presence of a traitor and foretold how their leader will fail and deny Him.  On top of that He also shares how his own heart is struggling.

But as Jesus works through His turmoil, He will outline core truths which will revive the spirits of His followers.  He will explain the reasons they can hope amide their hurt.

First, He indicates that He is about the task of preparing a path for them.  That is the reason He must leave.   He will blaze a spiritual path yet uncleared.  He will be establishing them a PLACE.

In this lesson we look at the second hope-builder:  He also is their PORTRAIT of God.  The human longing to witness the power capable of creating all things is whetted by the person of Christ.  While the fleshly Jesus was not a full and complete picture of deity, He does provide humanity with a clear and accurate glimpse of Father God.
